Advice grounded in how lenders assess risk

We understand origination and credit. Facilities are designed for how they will be underwritten, not just the way they will be pitched.

Where Maro works

Facility size
US$5m to US$50m.
Products
Commodity finance; asset-based lending; credit-insured receivables; inventory finance; structured trade finance.
Counterparties
Banks, private credit funds, specialist non-bank lenders, and credit insurers.
Geography
UK-based, with transactions across UK and international markets.

Debt Advisory

Process
We take clients from initial lender appraisal through to signed terms and drawdown – including facility strategy, lender selection, negotiation, and execution.
Situations
Most mandates are new facilities or refinancings.
Credit materials
Prepared as a credit committee would want to receive them. Risks appear alongside their mitigants, assumptions are stated up front, and the numbers reconcile.

Structured Finance

Structures
Commodity finance, structured trade, credit insured receivables, supply chain finance, and inventory-backed facilities.
Risk transfer
Credit insurance and guarantees, used to widen the lender universe and improve credit risk, rather than as an afterthought at documentation stage.
Design
Structural protections, security, intercreditor terms, and documentation support.
Starting point
Facilities work best when they align with how cash moves through a business. That is where the structuring starts.

Market Access

Lender fit
Not every lender underwrites commodity risk or inventory finance facilities. Maro knows which ones do.
Approach
Introductions are targeted rather than broadcast. A small number of the right counterparties protects the credit story.
Positioning
Transactions are framed in the language a credit committee expects, which is usually the difference between a quick decline and a considered look.
